I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
